SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Jay A. Hageman of Fairmount, who passed
4away on October 9, 2018; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Jay Hageman was born in Danville to Joseph and
6Dolores Messman Hageman on January 30, 1952; he graduated from
7the University of Illinois and married Tracy Miller in Sidell
8on November 24, 1974; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Jay Hageman operated a farming business, EAgCo,
10and was the owner of Honest Abe Insurance in Newman; he was a
11director for the Eastern Illini Electric Cooperative and a
12member of the Vermilion County Farm Bureau; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Jay Hageman was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran
14Church in Broadlands, where he served on many committees and
15was a longtime Sunday school teacher; he was a member of the
16Sidell Lions Club; he was a supporter of the Cunningham
17Children's Home and enjoyed having them out to the farm; his
18greatest joy was spending quality time with his grandchildren;
19and
 
20    WHEREAS, Jay Hageman was preceded in death by his parents;
21his mother-in-law, Barb Miller; and his brother-in-law, Doug

2    WHEREAS, Jay Hageman is survived by his wife, Tracy; his
3daughter, Jenny (Chris) Kirschner; his grandchildren, Dylan
4and Hadley Kirschner; his sisters, Connie Chew, Karen (Barry)
5Maddox, and Linda (Brent) Winninger; his sister-in-law, Dede
6(Don) Heidbreder; his father-in-law, Robert Miller; and
7numerous nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
10Jay A. Hageman and extend our sincere condolences to his
11family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
12further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Jay Hageman as an expression of our
15deepest sympathy.
