SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Michael Shawn Kelly, who passed away on
4August 14, 2018; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Shawn Kelly was born in Lake Forest to Michael
6John and Marietta (McLoughlin) Kelly in August of 1953; he
7graduated from Marian Catholic High School in 1971 and spent
8time in California before return to Illinois; he married Ann on
9August 29, 1981; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Shawn Kelly returned to Illinois to finish his
11studies; he held several executive roles at the family
12business, Kelco Industries; he later launched a successful
13career in financial services as first vice president of
14Graystone Consulting, a division of Morgan Stanley; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Shawn Kelly enjoyed spending time outdoors,
16roaring fires, modern cowboys, grilling the perfect steak, and
17the music of Fleetwood Mac; he was a generous person and always
18helped those who were in need and taught his children to do the
19same; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Shawn Kelly was preceded in death by his parents;

1    WHEREAS, Shawn Kelly is survived by his wife of 37 years,
2Ann; his daughters, Kristen (Rob) Ryan, Jennifer Kelly, and
3Shannon Kelly; his son, Michael Kelly III; his sisters, Karen
4Kelly and Kim (Dan) Fitzharris; his brothers, Kevin Kelly and
5Brian (Erin) Kelly; and his grandchildren, Miri Kelly, Michael
6Shawn Kelly IV, Robbie Ryan, and James Kelly; therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
9Michael Shawn Kelly, and extend our sincere condolences to his
10family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
11further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Shawn Kelly as an expression of our
14deepest sympathy.
