SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Mary Lou Stephens Swift of Bloomington,
4who passed away on June 19, 2018; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Mary Lou Swift was born in Anna to Elmer and Elsie
6(Mattheis) Stephens on July 13, 1936; as a child, she enjoyed
7riding, showing, and caring for her horses at their Union
8County farm; she graduated from Anna-Jonesboro High School in
91954; she graduated from the Paducah Beauty School in 1956; she
10married Thomas Gilbert Swift on September 2, 1957; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Mary Lou Swift and her husband traveled the world
12together and lived in many places, including Singapore and
13Bangkok, Thailand; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Mary Lou Swift was a loving wife, mother,
15grandmother, and great-grandmother; she enjoyed her many
16friendships, traveling, and collecting primitive American
17antiques; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Mary Lou Swift was preceded in death by her
19parents; her brothers, Elmer Eugene Stephens Jr. and Richard
20Stephens; and her twin sister, Martha Sue Stephens Norton; and

1    WHEREAS, Mary Lou Swift is survived by her husband, Thomas;
2her children, Cynthia (Randall) Lorimor and Craig (Rebecca)
3Swift; her grandsons, Barton (Jenette) Lorimor and Mattheis
4(Emma) Lorimor; her great-granddaughters, Robin and Myra
5Lorimor; and her many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
8Mary Lou Stephens Swift and extend our sincere condolences to
9her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
10further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of Mary Lou Swift as an expression of
13our deepest sympathy.
