SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Nora A. (Hyndman) Woods of Alton, who
4passed away on May 14, 2018; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Nora Woods was born in Godfrey to Joseph and
6Luella Hyndman on November 8, 1944; she graduated from Alton
7High, Tucker Business College, and Lewis & Clark Community
8College; she was married to Albert Woods for 45 years; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Nora Woods retired from the Alton School District
10after 20 years as a middle school librarian assistant; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Nora Woods was a member of the Greater St. James
12Baptist Church, where she was active in Sunday School, the
13Ushers Ministry, the Lord Supper Ministry, and the Food Pantry;
14she traveled around the United States, Canada, and Europe; she
15enjoyed preparing meals for her family and baking holiday
16treats with her grand and great-grandchildren; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Nora Woods was preceded in death by her husband,
18Albert; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Nora Woods is survived by her children, Laura
20Ellington, Rev. Albert (Kim) Woods Jr., Valerie Lynn (Gary)

1Ammons, and R. Matthew (Jackie) Woods; her siblings, Margie
2Cannon, Evelyn (Harold) Johnson; her 13 grandchildren; her 28
3great-grandchildren; her great-great-grandchild; and her
4nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
7Nora A. (Hyndman) Woods and extend our sincere condolences to
8her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
9further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of Nora Woods as an expression of our
12deepest sympathy.
