SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Willard Karr "Bill" Davidson, formerly of
4Gurnee, who passed away on April 20, 2018; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Bill Davidson was born in Saginaw, Michigan; he
6served in the United States Navy, retiring as a chief petty
7officer; he served on board ships during the Cuban Missile
8Crisis, the Congo wars, and the Vietnam War; much of his career
9was spent attached to destroyer ships stationed in San Diego
10and Guam, with shore duty assignments in San Bernardino,
11California and Great Lakes; he graduated from Southern Illinois
12University; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Bill Davidson taught electronics at Lake County
14College; he then joined Allstate and founded the Davidson
15Agency in Lake County; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Bill Davidson served as president of the Lake
17County Association of Life Underwriters and held leadership
18roles within the National Association of Insurance and
19Financial Advisors Lake County Chapter; he was known for his
20quick wit and magnetic personality; he retired to Fort Myers,
21Florida and loved fishing, boating, and traveling; and

1    WHEREAS, Bill Davidson was preceded in death by his
2parents, Willard Karr Davidson and Helen Irene Henderson
3Davidson Parsons; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Bill Davidson is survived by his daughters, Dawn
5Davidson-Ritacca (Daniel) and Diana Kiesler (Thomas); his
6granddaughters, Kaitlyn, Lauren, and Morgan Kiesler and Maria
7Ritacca; his lifemate, Patricia Elkin; and his extended family,
8including Bethany and Blythe Elkin, many nieces, nephews, and
9cousins, and dozens of dear friends of all ages; therefore, be
10it
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
12ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
13Willard Karr "Bill" Davidson, and extend our sincere
14condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved
15him; and be it further
 
16    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
17presented to the family of Bill Davidson as an expression of
18our deepest sympathy.
