SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Ronald E. "Bud" Stull, who passed away on
4April 16, 2018; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Ronald Stull was born in Wood River to Ivan E. and
6Thelma N. (Green) Stull on December 19, 1935; he married
7Darlene Smith in Alton on May 27, 1955; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Ronald Stull was the owner and operator of Stull's
9Body Shop with Darlene from 1960 to 2001; he was the youngest
10business owner in the Independent Garage Owners Association;
11and
 
12    WHEREAS, Ronald Stull was the first in the area to build
13dune buggies; he enjoyed restoring cars, and one of his
14favorite projects was converting a Ford van into a motor home
15and taking it up the East Coast with his family when his
16children were young; he won many first place trophies and two
17of his trucks were featured in Truckin' Magazine; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Ronald Stull was a talented oil painter and won a
19first place blue ribbon at an art show in Carlinville; he was a
20skilled archer and enjoyed bow hunting; he had a love of
21animals and was willing to take in any dog at any time; he

1enjoyed arguing politics and tinkering in his garage; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Ronald Stull was preceded in death by his parents;
3his brother, Sonny Stull; his infant daughter, Melissa Lynn;
4his granddaughter, Bethany Leigh Stull; and his infant
5great-grandchild, Morgan; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Ronald Stull is survived by his wife, Darlene; his
7daughters, Vickie (Bill) Rodgers, Tracy (David) Steward, and
8Crystal (Mike) East; his sons, Kent (Mona) and Sawyer Stull;
9his sister, Janith Griffin; his grandchildren, Kraig
10(Michelle) Rodgers, Kaci (Mark) Beatty, Travis (Kristin)
11Steward, Katie (Eric) Wigton, Brandon (Amanda) Stull, Matthew
12(Miranda) Stull, Rose Bryant, and Jasper Stull; and his
13great-grandchildren, Avery, Caroline, Alohalee, Cole, William,
14Sam, Brooklyn, and Emberlyn; therefore, be it
 
15    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
16ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
17Ronald E. "Bud" Stull, and extend our sincere condolences to
18his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
19further
 
20    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
21presented to the family of Ronald Stull as an expression of our
22deepest sympathy.
