SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Doris June Hunt of St. Charles, who
4passed away on April 2, 2018; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Doris Hunt was born in Chicago to Paul and Jane
6Howey and attended Calumet High School; she married Max L. Hunt
7in 1948; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Prior to her marriage, Doris Hunt was a lab
9technician at Jackson Park Hospital in Chicago; known for her
10charitable and philanthropic work, she was a volunteer at
11Delnor Hospital, an active member of P.E.O. Chapter K.B., and a
12founding member of the St. Charles Art and Music Festival as
13well as CASA Kane County; she was an active supporter of the
14Fox Valley Hospice, Tri-City Family Services, the Lazarus
15House, and the Riverwoods Christian Center; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Doris Hunt was a Stephens Minister and choir
17member at Baker Memorial United Methodist Church where she had
18been a member since 1956; she was active in several Playmakers
19Productions, and as a lover of the arts, supported St. Charles
20Singers and Elgin Community College; and
 
21    WHEREAS, Doris Hunt was a recipient of the William D. Barth

1Award for Human Services and was honored, with her husband Max,
2by a sculpture on the St. Charles River Corridor reflecting and
3exemplifying volunteerism; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Doris Hunt will always be remembered for her
5heartfelt personal notes she wrote to countless people; she
6enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and
7great-grandchildren; she also enjoyed playing cards,
8especially "hand and foot", and games with family and friends;
9she had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed collecting
10Santas, angels, bells, and her beloved Keewaydin Island
11seashells; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Doris Hunt was preceded in death by her husband,
13Max; her daughter, Deborah J. "Debbie" Beebe; her
14granddaughter, Lauren; her sister, Emily; and her brother,
15David; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Doris Hunt is survived by her children, Steve
17(Polly) Hunt, Jeffrey (Cheri) Hunt, Greg (Frank Sajtar) Hunt,
18David (Douglas Bella) Hunt, and Jennifer (Keith) Kesner; her
19son-in-law, Robert (Cheryl) Beebe; her grandchildren, Justin
20(Christy) Beebe, Sarah (Ben) Borgmeyer, Leslie Hunt, Mary
21(Anthony) LeCuyer, Oliver (Erin) Hunt, Max Ian Hunt, Gavin
22Hunt, and Lee Kesner; her step-grandchildren, Sally (Ian)
23Albenesius, Carly Smith, Anneliese (Jason) Smith Pesch, Nina

1Smith, and Cloe and Avery Smith-Westphall; her
2great-grandchildren, Cohen Beebe, Rylan, Kailee, and Makenna
3Borgmeyer, Eliza Faulds, Julian Siebold, Camille and Couper
4LeCuyer, and Eden Albenesius; her beloved sister, Sally Lind;
5and many wonderful nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
8Doris June Hunt, and extend our sincere condolences to her
9family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
10further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of Doris Hunt as an expression of our
13deepest sympathy.
