SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Jo Klawitter of Bloomington, who passed
4away on March 27, 2018; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Jo Klawitter was born in Normal to Carl E. and
6Anna (Karcher) Schultz; she graduated from Normal Community
7High School in 1940; she then attended Illinois State Normal
8University; she married Gus Klawitter in Bloomington on August
920, 1948; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Jo Klawitter worked as a legal secretary for Bob
11Fleming for over 50 years, and the Flemings thought of her as a
12member of their family; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Jo Klawitter was a member of Second Presbyterian
14Church of Bloomington and the American Business Women's
15Association; she also volunteered at the OSF St. Joseph Gift
16Shop for several years; she was a longtime fan of the ISU
17Redbirds and the Chicago Cubs; she enjoyed bowling and was on
18several leagues throughout the years; she and her husband
19enjoyed ballroom dancing; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Jo Klawitter was preceded in death by her parents;
21her husband, Gus; and her brothers, Carl and Bob Schultz; and

1    WHEREAS, Jo Klawitter is survived by her son, Ron (Linda)
2Klawitter; her granddaughter, Kiri Klawitter; her brother,
3Melvin (Kay) Schultz; and her many nieces and nephews;
4therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
7Jo Klawitter and extend our sincere condolences to her family,
8friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10presented to the family of Jo Klawitter as an expression of our
11deepest sympathy.
