SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Edward A. "Ed" Weaver of Bloomington, who
4passed away on March 16, 2018; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Ed Weaver was born in Lufkin, Texas to Dolph and
6Mary Ella Weaver on Valentine's Day in 1926; he volunteered for
7the U.S. Naval Air Corps after high school and was stationed in
8Chicago; he later attended Southern Methodist University,
9where he majored in electrical engineering and played for the
10golf team; he married Ivey Jo Land on September 8, 1950; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Ed Weaver spent ten years traveling and
12researching his book, The 300 Year History and Genealogy of One
13Weaver Family; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Ed Weaver loved to handicap horse races and owned
15several race horses; he enjoyed spending time with his buddies
16at the off track betting parlor; he was an avid golfer and
17enjoyed the game with his family and friends until his mid-80s;
18he and his wife enjoyed traveling; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Ed Weaver is survived by his wife of 67 years,
20Ivey Jo; his children, David (Trish) and Mark (Cindy) Weaver;
21his grandchildren, Wendi Weaver, Braxton (Katie) Weaver, Tyler

1(Erin) Weaver, and Talia (Mike) Laquitara; and eight
2great-grandchildren who loved their "Papa"; therefore, be it
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
4ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
5Edward A. "Ed" Weaver, and extend our sincere condolences to
6his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
7further
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
9presented to the family of Ed Weaver as an expression of our
10deepest sympathy.
