SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of MaryAnn "Mopsie" Horn of Alton, who
4passed away on February 24, 2018; and
 
5    WHEREAS, MaryAnn Horn was born in Jerseyville to Michael M.
6and Kathleen (Shea) Accario on June 28, 1932; she graduated
7from Marquette Catholic High School in 1950; she later
8graduated from St. Joseph School of Nursing; she married James
9F. Horn on October 24, 1953; and
 
10    WHEREAS, MaryAnn Horn worked as a Registered Nurse for many
11years and also served as a mentor to many younger nurses at
12various facilities, including Saint Anthony's Health Center;
13she also worked as the office nurse for Dr. Thomas Morrissey,
14M.D.; she retired from Rosewood Care Center at the age of 80;
15and
 
16    WHEREAS, MaryAnn Horn was a member of St. Mary's Catholic
17Church; she was an avid reader and enjoyed feeding and watching
18the birds; and
 
19    WHEREAS, MaryAnn Horn was preceded in death by her parents;
20her husband, James; her son, Tom Horn; and her siblings,
21Michael M. Accario and Patricia Northway; and

1    WHEREAS, MaryAnn Horn is survived by her daughter, Ann M.
2Horn Parker; her sons, Jim (Cheri) Horn, Tim (Vicki) Horn, Matt
3(Laurie) Horn, Dennis (Jenny) Horn, and Chris (Dana) Horn; her
4daughter-in-law, Cindy Horn; her brother-in-law, Allen
5Northway; her sister-in-law, Bonnie Horn; her grandchildren,
6Jennifer (Tracy), Jimmy, Jana (Rick), Jeff, Kinzye, Bobby
7(Mike), Chris, Stephanie (Matt), Sam (Jessica), Marykate,
8Georgia, Jake, John, Adam, and Zach; her many
9great-grandchildren; and her other extended family and many
10dear friends; therefore, be it
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
12ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
13MaryAnn "Mopsie" Horn and extend our sincere condolences to her
14family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
15further
 
16    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
17presented to the family of MaryAnn Horn as an expression of our
18deepest sympathy.
