SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Earline Cole, who passed away on February
42, 2018; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Earline Cole was born in Nashville, Tennessee to
6Earl and Willie Mae (Brown) Woods on May 18, 1924; she married
7Joseph Cole Sr. on April 28, 1940; she and her first child
8moved to Chicago while Joe served in World War II; he joined
9them in Chicago after his tour; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Earline Cole worked for the Civic Opera House in
11Chicago for many years; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Earline Cole learned to drive in her early
13thirties and drove for six decades; she spent her leisure time
14playing board games with her children and camping and fishing
15with her husband; once she became a grandmother, she kept the
16tradition of camping and fishing alive with her grandchildren;
17she also enjoyed celebrating the holidays with her family and
18friends; she will be remembered for her sense of humor and her
19indomitable spirit; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Earline Cole was preceded in death by her husband,
21Joe; and

1    WHEREAS, Earline Cole is survived by her children, Joanne,
2Jacqueline, Joseph Jr. (Buster), Janis, Carol, and Deborah; her
3grandchildren, Sharon, William Jr. (Anthony), Jon, Joseph III,
4Jerome Jr., Keith, Joanna, Jason, Jauntair, and Malika; her
5great-grandchildren, Kenneth Jr. Lauren, Khalyb, Tyriek,
6Jeremiah, Keanna, Ma'Klah, Antonio Jr., Raina, Amanda, and
7Cadence; her great-great-grandchildren, Jaya, Jasmine,
8Christian, Jamari, and Janiya; and her many nieces, nephews,
9great-nieces, great-nephews, and friends; therefore, be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
11ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
12Earline Cole and extend our sincere condolences to her family,
13friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Earline Cole as an expression of our
16deepest sympathy.
