SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of James "Jim" V. Bledsoe of Granite City,
4who passed away on February 26, 2018; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Jim Bledsoe was born in Granite City to Edgar and
6Dorothy (Duvall) Bledsoe on November 12, 1938; he was on the
7wrestling team at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale,
8where he was a two-time National Wrestling Champion; he married
9Kathleen Trgovich in Granite City on August 24, 1957; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Jim Bledsoe retired from National Steel, where he
11was a manager in the hot roll finishing department, after 27
12years of service; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Jim Bledsoe enjoyed sports, fishing, and
14attending his grandchildren's sporting events; his greatest
15joy was spending time with his family; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Jim Bledsoe was preceded in death by his parents;
17his sisters, Delores Scott and Verlia Wilson; and his
18father-in-law and mother-in-law, Blackie and Clara Trgovich;
19and
 
20    WHEREAS, Jim Bledsoe is survived by his wife, Kathleen, his

1children, Jim (Pam) Bledsoe and Jill (Kenny) Prazma; his
2brother, Richard (Mary Ann) Bledsoe; his grandchildren,
3Stephen (Nicole) Bledsoe, Jeremy (Amanda) Bledsoe, Erika
4(Kory) Stassi, and Ty (Bailey) Prazma; his
5great-grandchildren, Ryan Bledsoe, Rylee Bledsoe, Reese
6Bledsoe, and Kolby Stassi; and his extended family and many
7friends; therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
10James "Jim" V. Bledsoe and extend our sincere condolences to
11his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
12further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Jim Bledsoe as an expression of our
15deepest sympathy.
