SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Vera Rasmusen of Huntley, who passed away
4on January 7, 2018; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Vera Rasmusen was born in Huntley to Christ and
6Florence Ahrens on July 23, 1924; she graduated from Huntley
7High School in 1942 and married Hubert "Hughie" Rasmusen on
8June 16, 1943; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Vera Rasmusen was a homemaker and worked for Dr.
10Thomas Forrest, who delivered her four children; she was also a
11receptionist at Woodstock Memorial Hospital; she started with
12COILS, Inc. in Huntley in 1966 in the factory, then moved to
13the receptionist position and retired in 2002 after 36 years
14with them; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Vera Rasmusen was one of the longest members of
16the First Congregational Church in Huntley, where she was a
17Sunday school teacher; she was a member of the American Legion
18Auxiliary since 1960 and the Royal Neighbors of America; she
19enjoyed her front porch swing, western movies, big band music,
20and pictures of her great-grandchildren and pups; she was an
21avid fan of the Chicago Cubs and Bulls; and

1    WHEREAS, Vera Rasmusen was preceded in death by her
2husband; her sons, Larry, Ronald, and Steven; her parents; and
3her sister and brother-in-law, Norma and Henry Garlieb; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Vera Rasmusen is survived by her daughter, Sue
5(Dan) Fruin; her daughters-in-law, Marina and Dorie Rasmusen;
6her grandchildren, Dede (Kory) Larson, Ronald (Angie) Rasmusen
7Jr., Matthew (Jodi) Fruin, Nathen Fruin (Samantha Barickman),
8Peter (Ivy) Rasmusen, Stephanie (Dennis) Hutchinson, and Katie
9(Adam) Reeves; her great-grandchildren, Brent, Alex, Kylee,
10Kadeyn, Cayden, Colten, Tessa, Nicolette, Rylie, and Ryker; and
11several nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
 
12    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
13ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
14Vera Rasmusen, and extend our sincere condolences to her
15family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
16further
 
17    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
18presented to the family of Vera Rasmusen as an expression of
19our deepest sympathy.
