SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Ruth Ann Klaus of Maryville, who passed
4away on January 22, 2018; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Ruth Klaus was born in Granite City to George and
6Eva Delene (Wilcox) Diak on June 10, 1951; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Ruth Klaus was a teacher for 27 years at Alton
8Marquette Catholic High School, where she taught English and
9Humanities; she was also a musical and theater director, dance
10team coach, and cheerleading coach; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Ruth Klaus was a loving wife, mother, and
12grandmother, who cherished spending time with her family and
13adored her friends and the Marquette Community; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Ruth Klaus was preceded in death by her parents;
15her father-in-law, Ronald Klaus; and her mother-in-law,
16Henrietta Gay Klaus; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Ruth Klaus is survived by her husband of 44 years,
18John Klaus; her children, John L. (Joseph) Klaus II, Brett J.
19Klaus, and Stefanie A. (Scott) Ronald; her grandchild, Noah;
20her brothers, Robert (Kathryn), David (Kim), and George (Nancy)

1Diak; her sister, Lynn (Tony) Diak; her brother-in-law, Robert
2(Carol) Klaus; and her sisters-in-law, Diana Howland and Carole
3(Ralph) Biberdorf; therefore, be it
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
5ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
6Ruth Ann Klaus, and extend our sincere condolences to her
7family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
8further
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10presented to the family of Ruth Klaus as an expression of our
11deepest sympathy.
