SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Richard Duane "Dick" Schroeder who passed
4away on January 2, 2018; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Dick Schroeder was born in Harvard to LaVerne and
6Marjorie Spencer Schroeder on August 8, 1938; he served in the
7United States Army from 1959 until 1961; he was blessed to have
8two wonderful women in his life; his first wife, Sandra,
9preceded him in death; he then married Cathy; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Dick Schroeder was a barber for 58 years, and he
11worked in Woodstock for 55 of those years; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Dick Schroeder was a member of the Woodstock
13American Legion Post #412 and served as Commander and
14Treasurer; he was a staple in the community and could always be
15counted on for a smile and a good laugh; he was a wonderful
16husband, father, and grandfather; he was respected by many; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Dick Schroeder was preceded in death by his first
18wife, Sandra; his parents; his niece, Vicky Schroeder; his
19sister-in-law, Jackie Ihrke; and his brother-in-law, Bill
20Blaksley; and

1    WHEREAS, Dick Schroeder is survived by his second wife,
2Cathy; his children, Deanna (Tim) Petersen and Tom (Michele)
3Schroeder; his grandchildren, Emily Petersen, Michael
4Petersen, Alexandra Schroeder, Chloe Schroeder, Hannah
5Blaksley, and Cade Blaksley; his brother, Ramon Schroeder; his
6brothers-in-law, George "Skip" (Julee) Blaksley and DeVere
7"Bud" Ihrke; his nieces and nephews, Donna Schroeder, Carol
8O'Dell, Paula Camann, Scott Ihrke, Greg Ihrke, Jeff (Jennifer)
9Blaksley, Chris Blaksley, Tausha Blaksley and Mike Blaksley;
10therefore, be it
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
12ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
13Richard Duane "Dick" Schroeder and extend our sincere
14condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved
15him; and be it further
 
16    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
17presented to the family of Dick Schroeder as an expression of
18our deepest sympathy.
