SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Daniel John Koby of Woodstock, who passed
4away on December 10, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Dan Koby was born in Chicago to Stephen and Stella
6(Iwaniec) Kobylinski on June 8, 1944; he graduated from
7Carthage College in 1967, where he was president of his class
8and also the Beta Phi Epsilon fraternity; he proudly served in
9Vietnam with the United States Army and earned two Purple
10Hearts plus the silver Medal of Honor; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Dan Koby worked as a sales executive for the CBS
12television network for 27 years; and
 
13    WHEREAS, During retirement, Dan Koby enjoyed fly fishing
14with the Anglers Club and his daughters and hunting with his
15German Short-haired Pointers; he also enjoyed entertaining and
16cooking delicious dinners for his family and the neighborhood;
17he was a tremendous storyteller and always knew how to lift the
18spirits of others and how to make people laugh; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Dan Koby was preceded in death by his parents; and
20his siblings, Roberta and Stephen; and

1    WHEREAS, Dan Koby is survived by his wife, Pam; his
2daughters, Danielle (Daniel) Rucci and Stephanie Koby; his
3grandson, Maximilian; his nieces and nephews, Dana (John)
4Doran, Laura (Buddy) Koby-Zuckerman, Linda Kolby, Michael
5(Kathy), David, Justin (Holly), and Spencer (Kat); and his many
6great-nieces and great-nephews; therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
9Daniel John Koby and extend our sincere condolences to his
10family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
11further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Dan Koby as an expression of our
14deepest sympathy.
