SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Genevieve Ryan of Round Lake, who passed
4away on December 24, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Genevieve Ryan was born in Chicago to Arthur and
6Gertrude Manning on September 1, 1925; she attended Our Lady of
7Lourdes Grade School and then Amundsen High School; she married
8John Ryan in 1949; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Genevieve Ryan worked in Chicago at several jobs,
10including as a clerk in the Palmolive Building; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Genevieve Ryan loved being a wife and mother and
12raising her family; her Catholic faith sustained her throughout
13her life; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Genevieve Ryan was preceded in death by her
15husband, John; her son, Dennis Ryan; her great-granddaughter,
16Hannah Salcher; her parents; her brothers, Arthur and Mack
17Manning; and her sisters, Mary Lou Hildebrandt, Frances Layde,
18and Patricia Barry; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Genevieve Ryan is survived by her children, Kevin
20Ryan, Kathleen Ryan-Fox, Patrick Ryan, Maureen Snider, Colleen

1Ivins, Theresa Odom, and Sharon Mack; 20 grandchildren; 15
2great-grandchildren; her brother, Thomas Manning; and numerous
3nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
5ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
6Genevieve Ryan, and extend our sincere condolences to her
7family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
8further
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10presented to the family of Genevieve Ryan as an expression of
11our deepest sympathy.
