|
2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
3 | | learn of the death of Frank J. Davis, who passed away on |
4 | | November 20, 2017; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, Frank Davis was born in Bloomington to Harriet and |
6 | | Russell S. Davis; he graduated from Bloomington High School in |
7 | | 1945; he immediately joined the United States Army and proudly |
8 | | served with the Occupation Forces in Germany; he graduated from |
9 | | Illinois Wesleyan University in June 1951; he married Norine |
10 | | Arends in Bloomington on February 23, 1952; and
|
11 | | WHEREAS, Frank Davis joined the Van Gundy Agency after his |
12 | | graduation from Illinois Wesleyan and was named president in |
13 | | 1963; he remained there until his retirement in 1991; and
|
14 | | WHEREAS, Frank Davis was active in the community and was a |
15 | | member of the Kiwanis, the Bloomington Shrine, and the Normal |
16 | | Rotary; he was a past president of the Bloomington-Normal |
17 | | Jaycees and served as the Normal Township Auditor; he also |
18 | | served as Chairman of the Board of Citizens Savings & Loan and |
19 | | on the Board of the Bloomington Country Club; and
|
20 | | WHEREAS, Frank Davis married Elaine Radmacher on September |
21 | | 1, 1984; and
|

1 | | WHEREAS, After retirement, Frank Davis spend most of his |
2 | | time in Florida; he was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs and |
3 | | enjoyed spending time with his family, and playing golf and gin |
4 | | rummy with friends; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, Frank Davis was preceded in death by his parents; |
6 | | his first wife, Norine; his brother, Russell; and his sister, |
7 | | Charlotte Snyder; and
|
8 | | WHEREAS, Frank Davis is survived by his wife, Elaine; his |
9 | | daughters, Diane Davis Farnsworth and Linda Davis Evans; his |
10 | | stepdaughters, Tara Allen, Lisa Watkins, and Dianne Martinez) |
11 | | his grandchildren, Shelley, Lauren, Mallory, Madison, Matthew, |
12 | | Alec, and Haley; and his many nieces, nephews, and cousins; |
13 | | therefore, be it

14 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL |
15 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
16 | | Frank J. Davis and extend our sincere condolences to his |
17 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it |
18 | | further

19 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
20 | | presented to the family of Frank Davis as an expression of our |
21 | | deepest sympathy.
