SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of David Piktel of Winthrop Harbor, who
4passed away on July 10, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, David Piktel was born in Waukegan to Joseph Piktel
6and Marie Dahl on January 10, 1949; and
 
7    WHEREAS, David Piktel worked for the North Chicago Post
8Office in the late 1960s; he then worked for 20 years at Polk
9Brothers in Waukegan; most recently, he was self-employed as a
10painter; and
 
11    WHEREAS, David Piktel was affectionately known as "Little
12Dave", "Poppy", and "Uncle Dave"; he was a member of
13Zion-Benton Moose Lodge #667, South Of The Border Muskies Inc.,
14and General Casimir Pulaski Post #25 PLAV; and
 
15    WHEREAS, David Piktel was preceded in death by his parents
16and his brothers, Bill Burton, Bob Burton, Don Burton, and Jim
17Piktel; and
 
18    WHEREAS, David Piktel is survived by his longtime partner,
19Debbie; his children, Joel Piktel, Ryan Piktel, Stephanie
20(Jeff) Bruebach, and Katie (Mike Pye) Griffin; his

1grandchildren, Chelsey, Collin, and Lily; and numerous nieces
2and nephews; therefore, be it
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
4ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
5David Piktel, and extend our sincere condolences to his family,
6friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further
 
7    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
8presented to the family of David Piktel as an expression of our
9deepest sympathy.
