SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Clyde H. Martin of Urbana, who passed
4away on July 16, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Clyde Martin was born in Urbana to Thene E. and
6Bernice E. (Davidson) Martin on February 14, 1930; he graduated
7from Urbana High School in 1948; he served in the United States
8Navy as a hospital corpsman from 1948 to 1953 and married
9Jeannine E. Roney in Urbana on August 15, 1953; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Clyde Martin was a third-generation firefighter
11for the City of Urbana, retiring as captain on February 2, 1991
12after 35 years of service; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Clyde Martin was a member of the National Rifle
14Association, VFW Post 630, the St. Joseph Sportsman Club, and
15the National Muzzle Loading Rifle Association; he was an avid
16hunter and fisherman and loved spending time with his family;
17and
 
18    WHEREAS, Clyde Martin was preceded in death by his wife,
19Jeannine; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Clyde Martin is survived by his son, Shawn A.

1(Saundra R.) Martin; his daughter, Susan A. (John A.) Johnson;
2his grandchildren, Patrick T. (Meredith) Martin, Lindsay C.
3(Matt) Lebo, and Brittany N. (Scott) Hedden; and his
4great-grandchildren, Giuliana Martin, Freyja Martin, Maynard
5Martin, Lucas Lebo, and Dawson Lebo; therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
8Clyde H. Martin, and extend our sincere condolences to his
9family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
10further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of Clyde Martin as an expression of our
13deepest sympathy.
