SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Bernadette Ann Parker, who passed away on
4July 8, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Bernadette Parker was born in Chicago on January
621, 1939 and spent her life in Chicago, Barrington, and
7Palatine; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Bernadette Parker was a registered nurse and spent
9years working in home healthcare, visiting, caring for, and
10cajoling people into wellness; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Bernadette Parker was a member of St. Patrick
12Catholic Church and enjoyed volunteering at the Willow Creek
13Care Center; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Bernadette Parker was affectionately known by her
15family as "Gigi"; she loved playing Scrabble with her
16grandchildren, doing word searches, watching movies, and
17cooking for her family and friends; her specialties were
18pierogi, gobki, and kolaczki, of which she made thousands for
19her children and grandchildren; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Bernadette Parker is survived by her siblings,

1Marcia Burke and Jim Syke; her children, Cathy Tompkins and Jim
2Parker; her son-in-law, Scott Tompkins; her grandchildren,
3Elizabeth, Daniel, Cristina, and Julia; and many cousins,
4nieces and nephews, and neighbors; therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
7Bernadette Parker, and extend our sincere condolences to her
8family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
9further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of Bernadette Parker as an expression
12of our deepest sympathy.
