SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Glen A. "Pete" Borman Jr. of Alton, who
4passed away on February 25, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Glen Borman Jr. was born in Alton to Glenn Borman
6Sr. and Eleanor (Hartmann) Borman on February 24, 1938; he
7graduated from St. Mary's grade school, Marquette Catholic High
8School, and St. Louis University; he married Jane Kaveler on
9May 7, 1960; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Glen Borman Jr. went to work at McDonnell Aircraft
11as a liaison engineer and continued on as it became
12McDonnell-Douglas and then Boeing; he spent most of his career
13on the design and production of the F-15 fighter and retired
14after 54 years on October 23, 2015; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Glen Borman Jr. had several hobbies including,
16Santa's workshop foreman, golf, hunting, woodworking, and
17enjoyed requests from family to design and produce challenging
18pieces of furniture; he belonged to the Sportsman's Club, the
19Eagle's Club, and was president of the Owl's Club for 20 years;
20and
 
21    WHEREAS, Glen Borman Jr. was preceded in death by his

1parents; infants, Paula Jean and Tiny Tim; his granddaughter,
2Emily; and his sister, Patricia McCollam; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Glen Borman Jr. is survived by his wife, Jane; his
4children, Andrew "Big Bird" Borman, Tom "Lurch" (Heather), Tim
5"Moon Dog", and Scott "Tweety" (Angela) Borman; his
6grandchildren, Clayton, Jessica, Isabel, Lily, Clara, Sophie,
7and Spencer; his sisters, Carol (Guy) Nasello, and Sue Nagy
8(Steve Leahy); his brother-in-law, Don McCollam; and many
9nieces, nephews, and cousins; therefore, be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
11ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
12Glen A. "Pete" Borman Jr., and extend our sincere condolences
13to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be
14it further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to the family of Glen Borman Jr. as an expression of
17our deepest sympathy.
