SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Marilyn R. Hicks of St. Charles, who
4passed away on February 21, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Marilyn Hicks was born in St. Charles to Hazel
6(Carlson) and Arthur Roehlk on May 7, 1924; she graduated from
7St. Charles High School in 1942; she studied nursing at
8Augustana Hospital in Chicago for three years to become a
9registered nurse; she married Lyle Hicks at the Bethlehem
10Lutheran Church in St. Charles on May 26, 1946; she later
11earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the College of
12St. Francis in Joliet; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Marilyn Hicks worked at the old Geneva Hospital,
14Delnor Hospital, and in the offices of two well-known doctors
15in Geneva; she later became the school nurse at Coultrap Middle
16School; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Marilyn Hicks was preceded in death by her
18parents; her siblings, Glenn and Marjorie; and her husband,
19Lyle; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Marilyn Hicks is survived by her sons, John, James
21(Vicki), Joel (Sharon), and Lyle; her grandchildren, Byron

1(Tami), Kyle, James (Heather), and Ian and Kathryn (Jon)
2Casserilla; her great-grandchildren, Jordan, Kendell, Bentley,
3Mable Rose, and Penelope Iris; and many other dear relatives
4and friends; therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
7Marilyn R. Hicks, and extend our sincere condolences to her
8family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
9further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of Marilyn Hicks as an expression of
12our deepest sympathy.
