SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Ronald A. Oppedisano, who passed away on
4January 8, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Ronald Oppedisano was born to Norma and August
6"Gus" Oppedisano on December 14, 1955; his family settled in
7Norridge in 1961; he earned his bachelor's degree in urban
8planning and environmental studies from Northeastern Illinois
9University and married Linda Valentino in 1982; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Ronald Oppedisano worked for Cook County Assessor
11Thomas C. Hynes; he worked his way up to various director and
12supervisory positions; eventually, he earned his MAI
13designation from the Appraisal Institute and left the Cook
14County Assessor's office; he founded Disano Appraisal
15Consultants in 1992; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Ronald Oppedisano began his public service career
17in 1991 as a member, and later chairman, of the Norridge Zoning
18Board of Appeals; he was appointed to serve as a Village
19Trustee in 1998 and was elected in 1999, 2003, and 2007; as a
20Village Trustee, he served as Chairman of some of the most
21important committees; and

1    WHEREAS, Ronald Oppedisano was elected to the office of
2Norridge Village President in 2009; he worked to bring in many
3millions of dollars in grant money and to formulate and adopt a
4new comprehensive plan for the village; he created the "Green
5Team" to expand environmental awareness and began the Norridge
6farmers market; he also served on the executive committee of
7the West Central Municipal Conference; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Ronald Oppedisano was preceded in death by his
9parents, and his father-in-law, Richard Valentino; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Ronald Oppedisano is survived by his wife, Linda;
11his children, Tena (Brian) McCullough, Lisa (James) Gannon, and
12Vincent Oppedisano; his grandchildren, Lia, Jack, Joseph, and
13Lyla; his mother-in-law, Rita Valentino; his brother-in-law,
14Anthony (Gail) and his sister-in-law, Michele Valentino; and
15many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends; therefore, be it
 
16    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
17ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
18Ronald A. Oppedisano, and extend our sincere condolences to his
19family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
20further
 
21    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
22presented to the family of Ronald Oppedisano as an expression
