AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 1556 




2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 1556 as follows:

 
3on page 1, line 6, after "5-102," by inserting "5-107,"; and
 


4on page 39, immediately below line 11, by inserting:

 



5    "(625 ILCS 5/5-107)  (from Ch. 95 1/2, par. 5-107)



6    Sec. 5-107. Bond exemption. The following persons shall be 
7exempt from
the bond required
in Sections 5-101 and 5-102: (1) 
8Any person who has been
continuously
licensed under Section 
95-101 or 5-102 since calendar year
1983; (2) any licensee who 
10as determined by the Secretary of State, has
faithfully and 
11continuously complied with conditions of the bond
requirement 
12for a period of 60 36 consecutive months after the effective 
13date of this amendatory Act of the 100th General Assembly.

14    This exemption shall continue for each licensee until such 
15time as he may
be determined by the Secretary of State to be

1delinquent or deficient in
the transmittal of title and 
2registration fees or taxes.

3    This amendatory Act of 1983 shall be applicable to the 1984 
4registration
year and thereafter.

5    A person whose license is cancelled due to the voluntary 
6surrender of
such license, who applies for a new license for 
7the same license year or
one license year after the license 
8year of the cancelled license, will
remain exempt under 
9paragraph (1) above if the only break in the continuous

10licensure is caused by the cancellation due to the voluntary 
11surrender of
the license.
