AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 1466

2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 1466 by replacing
3everything after the enacting clause with the following:
 
4    "Section 5. The Wildlife Code is amended by changing
5Section 2.5 as follows:
 
6    (520 ILCS 5/2.5)
7    Sec. 2.5. Crossbow conditions.
8    (a) A person may use a crossbow if one or more of the
9following conditions are met:
10        (1) the user is a person age 62 and older;
11        (2) the user is a person with a disability to whom the
12    Director has issued a permit to use a crossbow, as provided
13    by administrative rule; or
14        (3) the date of using the crossbow is during the period
15    of the second Monday following the Thanksgiving holiday
16    through the last day of the archery deer hunting season

1    (both inclusive) set annually by the Director.
2    (b) As used in this Section, "person with a disability"
3means a person who has a physical impairment due to injury or
4disease, congenital or acquired, which renders the person so
5severely disabled as to be unable to use a longbow, recurve
6bow, or compound bow. Permits must be issued only after the
7receipt of a physician's statement confirming the applicant is
8a person with a disability as defined above.
9    (c) A person may use a crossbow to take coyotes when it is
10legal to use a bow and arrow to take coyotes.
