Amends the Department of State Police Law of the
Civil Administrative Code of Illinois and the School Code. Requires the Department of State Police to annually determine the 5 most frequently committed crimes by minors and any criminal, civil, or other penalties associated with these crimes, compile a report of this information, and make the report publicly available on the Department's website. Provides that the Chicago Board of Education shall require each high school to annually distribute the report to its students electronically or in the form of a letter; permits other school boards to require a high school to distribute the report. Provides that if a high school distributes the report electronically, it shall obtain from its students electronic acknowledgment of receipt of the report.

8 | | Sec. 2605-610. Creation of list of top crimes committed by |
9 | | minors. The Department shall annually determine the 5 most |
10 | | frequently committed crimes by minors and any criminal, civil, |
11 | | or other penalties associated with these crimes, compile a |
12 | | report of this information, and make the report publicly |
13 | | available on the Department's website. |
14 | | Section 10. The School Code is amended by adding Sections |
15 | | 10-20.67 and 34-18.60 as follows: |

17 | | Sec. 10-20.67. Distribution of list of top crimes committed |
18 | | by minors. The school board of any district that maintains |
19 | | grades 9 through 12 may require each high school to annually |
20 | | distribute to its students, electronically or in the form of a |
21 | | letter, the report found on the Department of State Police's |
