2 | | AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 4697 by replacing |
3 | | line 16 on page 2 through line 14 on page 3 with the following: |
4 | | "(c) Except as otherwise provided in this Section, whenever |
5 | | any township or
multi-township office becomes vacant or |
6 | | temporarily vacant due to a physical
incapacity of a township |
7 | | officer , the township or multi-township board may
temporarily |
8 | | appoint a deputy to perform the ministerial functions of the |
9 | | vacant
office until the vacancy has been filled as provided in |
10 | | subsection (a) or (b). Whenever any township or multi-township |
11 | | office becomes vacant or temporarily vacant due to the physical |
12 | | incapacity of a township officer, the township or |
13 | | multi-township board may temporarily appoint a deputy to |
14 | | perform the ministerial functions of the vacant office until |
15 | | the physically incapacitated township officer submits a |
16 | | written
statement to the appropriate board that he or she is |
17 | | physically able to perform
