SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Philip M. Duffin Sr. of Naperville, who
4passed away on December 22, 2016, at the age of 72; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Philip Duffin Sr. retired after 32 years of
6service as a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor for the State
7of Illinois; he retired in 2012 as a bus driver for Joliet
8Township High School after eight years; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Philip Duffin Sr. was a dedicated parishioner at
10St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Joliet, where he was a
11Lector at Sunday Mass, a Eucharistic Minister, delivering
12Communion to the elderly and sick, and a Religious Education
13Teacher; his memberships included the school board, the Rite of
14Christian Initiation of Adults, and the Light of the World
15Prayer Group; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Philip Duffin Sr. was preceded in death by his
17parents, John and Martha Duffin, and his cousin, Raymond Dean
18Guinto; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Philip Duffin Sr. is survived by his wife, Janet
20(Peterek) Duffin; his children, Jennifer (Frank) Reyes, Philip
21M. (Julie) Duffin Jr., Marie Duffin (Kim Knowles), and Ann

1(Casey) McCambridge; his siblings, MaryEllyn (Daniel) Peterek,
2Thomas (Sherry) Duffin, and Patricia (Irvin) Gibson; his
3grandchildren, Megan, Jacob, Gabriela, Joshua, and Leah Reyes,
4Drew, Olivia, and Natalie Duffin, and Madeline and Audrey
5McCambridge; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins,
6including Donna (Guinto) Wisemantle; therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
9Philip M. Duffin Sr., and extend our sincere condolences to his
10family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
11further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Philip Duffin Sr. as an expression
14of our deepest sympathy.
