SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Gretchen Maxine Gulledge of Maryville, who passed away on December 12, 2016; and

WHEREAS, Gretchen Gulledge was born in St. Louis, Missouri to George Herman and Louise Marie (Janssen) Johnson on January 25, 1927; she married Lawrence Gulledge in St. Charles, Missouri on December 31, 1946; and

WHEREAS, Gretchen Gulledge was a member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church in Maryville, where she served as a greeter for 30 years; she was a member of the Maryville Senior Citizens; she was avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and enjoyed the music of Lawrence Welk; and

WHEREAS, Gretchen Gulledge was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence; her parents; and her siblings, George Johnson Jr., John "Jesse" Johnson, Evelyn Johnson, Virginia Misuraco, Ruth Amidon, Margaret Johnson, Doris Johnson, and Mary Jane Logan; and

WHEREAS, Gretchen Gulledge is survived by her children, Sandra Blair, Larry (Nancy) Gulledge, Karen (Denny) Vollmar, and Kenneth (Juli) Gulledge; her grandchildren, Jeremy Blair, Steven (Holly) Blair, Matthew (Hope) Gulledge, Daniel Gulledge, Bekey (Jamie) Zawada, Sarah (Jeremy) Stone, Jason Gulledge, and Robert Gulledge; her great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Blair, Gavin Zawada, Payton Zawada, Camden Blair, Alexandra Gulledge, Landon Stone, Kennedy Gulledge, Harper Stone, Finnegan Blair, Blake Gulledge, Mason Gulledge, and Ellanora Stone; and her sisters-in-law, Cora Jane Dillick, Maydell Bryant, Gerri Meyer, and Janet Johnson; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Gretchen Maxine Gulledge, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Gretchen Gulledge as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
