2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
3 | | learn of the death of Patricia Elaine Richardson, who passed |
4 | | away on December 2, 2016; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, Patricia Richardson was born to Theodore David and |
6 | | LaVera (Duncan) Howard on September 3, 1945; her mother would |
7 | | go on to marry Alvoid Lane,
who loved Patricia as his own; she |
8 | | attended Wadsworth Elementary School and graduated from Park |
9 | | High School in 1963; she attended Wilson Jr. College while |
10 | | working as a waitress and once served Muhammad Ali a banana |
11 | | split; she married Russel Richardson in 1967; and
|
12 | | WHEREAS, Patricia Richardson worked as a manager at Sears, |
13 | | Roebuck and Co. in the credit
department; she stopped working |
14 | | shortly before her first baby was
born; she and her husband |
15 | | lived for periods of time in Lake Forest; Cincinnati, Ohio; and |
16 | | San Diego, California; finally settling in Country Club
Hills, |
17 | | where she worked in a variety of capacities, but primarily as a
|
18 | | librarian within her children's school district #144; and
|
19 | | WHEREAS, Patricia Richardson loved music, theater, and the |
20 | | arts and instilled a love of these in her children and |
21 | | grandchildren; she was a Girl Scout leader; she loved to watch |
22 | | old movies, sing Broadway musicals, read mystery novels, and |
|

1 | | helping her children collect and rescue animals of all kinds; |
2 | | and
|
3 | | WHEREAS, Patricia Richardson was preceded in death by her |
4 | | husband of almost 50 years,
Russell; her fathers, Alvoid and |
5 | | Theodore David; her brother, Donald; and
her sister, Lillian; |
6 | | and
|
7 | | WHEREAS, Patricia Richardson is survived by her children,
|
8 | | Desirae Douma, Andrew (Jennifer),
and Jennifer; her |
9 | | grandchildren, Zachary, Brenden,
Emily, Alexis, Sydney, |
10 | | Kennedy, McKenzie, Hawaii, Anaya, A.J., Sati,
Lucy, and Ethel; |
11 | | her mother, Lavera; her sister, Yvonne; her sister-in-law, |
12 | | Katherine; her brother-in-law, Leonard
(Betty); her uncle, |
13 | | Richard; and a host
of cousins, nieces, nephews, beloved |
14 | | friends, and colleagues; therefore, be it
|
15 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL |
16 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
17 | | Patricia Elaine Richardson, and extend our sincere condolences |
18 | | to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be |
19 | | it further

20 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
21 | | presented to the family of Patricia Richardson as an expression |
22 | | of our deepest sympathy.
