SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of  Carl J. "Duke" Trent of Rock Island, who 
4passed away on October 18, 2016; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Carl Trent was born on June 24, 1917 in Brewster, 
6Nebraska; his parents were Edward and Anna Morgan Trent; he 
7married Donna E. Boyer on September 6, 1947 in Farmington, 
8Iowa; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Carl Trent served with the United States Army in 
10Africa and Italy during World War II; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, Carl Trent worked as a coal miner and at John 
12Deere Plow Planter; he was also a truck driver for Phillips 
13Petroleum for many years; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, Carl Trent was a member of Oak Ridge Bible Chapel 
15in Milan; he enjoyed gardening; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, Carl Trent is survived by his wife, Donna; his 
17sons, Jack (Kathy) Trent, Steve (Crystal) Trent, and Mike 
18(Brenda) Trent; his grandchildren, Stephanie, Justin, Tina, 
19Chad, Adam, Jason, and Jennifer; and 17 great-grandchildren;

1    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL 
2ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his 
3family and friends, mourn the passing of Carl J. "Duke" Trent; 
4and be it further
  
 
5    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
6presented to the family of Carl Trent as an expression of our 
7sympathy.
