SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of  Peter Durry of Moline, who passed away on 
4September 16, 2016; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Peter Durry was born on November 8, 1945 in Marie, 
6Arkansas; his parents were Walter and Viola Smith Durry; he 
7married Margaret Fulscher-Takantjas on October 25, 1980 in 
8Davenport, Iowa; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Peter Durry was a veteran of the United States Air 
10Force, serving from 1963 to 1967; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, Peter Durry earned his master's degree in social 
12work at the University of Illinois; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, Peter Durry was a licensed clinical social worker 
14at the VA hospital in Danville; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Peter Durry was a history buff and enjoyed working 
16on improvement projects around the house, his retirement, and 
17spending time with his family; and
  
 
18    WHEREAS, Peter Durry was preceded in death by his parents 
19and his grandson, Nicholas; and

1    WHEREAS, Peter Durry is survived by his wife, Margaret 
2Durry; his children, Eileen (Steven) Pyevich, Jim Takantjas, 
3Tina Strieder, Melissa Swift, Christina (Tom) McCormick, Alex 
4(Edith) Takantjas, and Michael Durry; 12 grandchildren; and his 
5siblings, Mary (Earl) Fredrich, Paul (Terry) Durry, and 
6Patricia Durry; therefore, be it
  
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL 
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his 
9family and friends, mourn the passing of Peter Durry; and be it 
10further
  
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
12presented to the family of Peter Durry as an expression of our 
13sympathy.
