SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Karen Luster-Lockhart of Chicago, who 
4passed away on October 3, 2016; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Karen Luster-Lockhart was born in Chicago to 
6Stephen and Josie Luster on May 6, 1972; she received her 
7elementary education from St. Sabina Academy in Chicago and 
8graduated from Hirsch Metropolitan High School in 1990 as the 
9valedictorian; she attended the University of Illinois 
10Urbana-Champaign; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, Karen Luster-Lockhart worked as the Director of 
12Marketing for her family business, Essations, Inc.; she later 
13became a licensed esthetician, graduating from the Paul 
14Mitchell Skin Academy; in June of 2015, she opened Heaven's 
15Sanctuary; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, Karen Luster-Lockhart married Isiah "Zeke" 
17Lockhart on August 31, 2003; and
  
 
  
18    WHEREAS, Karen Luster-Lockhart is survived by her husband, 
19Isiah; her children, Kyla and Isiah Jr.; her parents; her 
20siblings, Stephanie (Brandon), Stephen, and Christal; her 
21grandfather, Joe; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews,

1cousins, extended family, and friends; therefore, be it
  
 
2    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL 
3ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
4Karen Luster-Lockhart, and extend our sincere condolences to 
5her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it 
6further
  
7    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
8presented to  the family of  Karen Luster-Lockhart as an 
9expression of our deepest sympathy.
