SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of  Charles "Chuck" L. Maddox of Moline, who 
4passed away on September 12, 2016; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Charles Maddox was born on August 26, 1932 in 
6Hazen, Arkansas; his parents were Robert Lee and Annie Lee 
7Holcomb Maddox; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, Charles Maddox retired from the Moline Police 
9Department on March 10, 1979 after 23 years of service; he also 
10worked at John Deere PDW in Milan before retiring; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Charles Maddox was an avid fisherman and enjoyed 
12gardening, especially hot peppers; he was happiest at his cabin 
13along the Rock River with his brother Jim, where they hosted 
14family gatherings for many years; and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, Charles Maddox was a Korean War veteran and a very 
16proud member of the Illinois Police Benevolent Association; he 
17was also a member of the Friends Circle Club and the Cavalier 
18Club; and
  
 
19    WHEREAS, Charles Maddox was preceded in death by his 
20parents and his brothers, Leroy, Jim, and Bob; and

1    WHEREAS, Charles Maddox is survived by his wife, Catherine 
2Maddox; his children, Frances (Joe) Maddox Williams, Charles 
3"Randy" Maddox, Shawn (Jill) Maddox, Veronica Brown, John 
4Brown, and Terry (Deb) Brown; eight grandchildren; and five 
5great-grandchildren; therefore, be it
  
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL 
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his 
8family and friends, mourn the passing of Charles "Chuck" L. 
9Maddox; and be it further
  
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
11presented to the family of Charles Maddox as an expression of 
12our sympathy.
