SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of  Gerald R. "Jerry" Ross of Gillespie, who 
4passed away on September 7, 2016; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Gerald Ross was born on February 24, 1928 in 
6Carlinville; his parents were Theodore Ross and Colette 
7McChesney Ross; he married Nancy Jeanne Ross on May 12, 1950 in 
8Gillespie; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Gerald Ross served in the United States Navy from 
101946 to 1948; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, Gerald Ross retired after serving as a lab 
12technician for Shell Oil for many years; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, Gerald Ross was preceded in death by his parents; 
14his wife, Nancy; his brother, Theodore "Bud" Ross; and his 
15sister, Colette Kretsinger; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, Gerald Ross is survived by his children, Jerry R. 
17(Kimberly) Ross, Jeffrey M. (Lee) Ross, and Jay T. Ross (Ann 
18Marie Bauer); his grandchildren, Eric (Jen) Ross, Chad (Lisa) 
19Ross, Shelby Ross, Jeremy Ross, Joshua (Amanda) Ross, Jessica 
20Ross, and Gary Thomas Bauer Ross; nine great-grandchildren; his

1sister, Eugenia Taynor; and his sister-in-law, Delores Ross; 
2therefore, be it
  
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL 
4ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his 
5family and friends, mourn the passing of Gerald R. "Jerry" 
6Ross; and be it further
  
 
7    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
8presented to the family of Gerald Ross as an expression of our 
9sympathy.
