| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Robert Lewis Depoorter of Moline, who |
| 4 | | passed away on August 29, 2016; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Robert Depoorter was born on November 18, 1932 in |
| 6 | | Moline; his parents were Joseph and Martha Depoorter; he |
| 7 | | married Nancy Ann Slover on December 29, 1956 at St. Anne |
| 8 | | Church in East Moline; and
|
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Robert Depoorter was a proud United States Army |
| 10 | | veteran of the Korean War and a member of American Legion Post |
| 11 | | 246 in Moline; and
|
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Robert Depoorter retired from the Teamsters as an |
| 13 | | independent truck driver after many years of service; and
|
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Robert Depoorter was a member of Christ the King |
| 15 | | Catholic Church, which he attended regularly; and
|
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Robert Depoorter enjoyed spending time with his |
| 17 | | family, watching his son coach football, eating out, and |
| 18 | | bringing lawn mowers back from the dead; and
|
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Robert Depoorter was preceded in death by his |
|

| 17 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL |
| 18 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his |
| 19 | | family and friends, mourn the passing of Robert Lewis |
| 20 | | Depoorter; and be it further

| 21 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 22 | | presented to the family of Robert Depoorter as an expression of |
| 23 | | our sympathy.
