SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Hope Jovicin of Richton Park, who passed 
4away on July 18, 2016; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Hope Jovicin was an active member of the Human 
6Relations Commission; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, Hope Jovicin served as the Resident 
8Representative for Park Towers Annual Resident
Appreciation 
9Picnic; she was an Associate Member of the Senior Citizen 
10Advisory Committee; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, Hope Jovicin was a vital member of the "Collation 
12to do Good" to help bring relief to
orphans in Jeremie, Haiti 
13on the "Fill the Bus" project; she was an advocate for the Cat 
14Island Sister
City Project and became a member of the Sister 
15City Committee; she was an advocate for the annual "I Make A 
16Difference" awards ceremony and
the Neighbor to Neighbor 
17Dinners hosted at Park Towers; and
  
 
18    WHEREAS, Hope Jovicin was recognized and awarded a 
19certificate for the Age Options Volunteer
Awards Luncheon, 
20which connects older adults with community-based resources and 
21options; she received an award for the annual "I Make A

1Difference" ceremony and
was selected as Unsung Heroine of Cook 
2County 6th District; and
  
 
3    WHEREAS, Hope Jovicin was selected as the 2013 Richton Park 
4Citizen of the Year; therefore, be it
  
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL 
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
7Hope Jovicin, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, 
8friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further
  
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
10presented to  the family of  Hope Jovicin as an expression of our 
11deepest sympathy.
