2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
3 | | learn of the death of Francis "Bud" Jones of Elwood, who passed |
4 | | away on August 7, 2016; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, Francis Jones was born and raised in Joliet; he |
6 | | attended St. Patrick's Grade School, Washington Junior High |
7 | | School, and Joliet Catholic High School; and
|
8 | | WHEREAS, Francis Jones worked for the Alexander Lumber |
9 | | Company for 43 years until his retirement in 1999; he was a |
10 | | member of Teamster Local 179; and
|
11 | | WHEREAS, Francis Jones served his community as a member of |
12 | | the Elwood Village Board from 2007 until his death; he was a |
13 | | former Jackson Township Trustee and the former President of the |
14 | | Wyndstone Village Homeowners Association; and |
15 | | WHEREAS, Francis Jones enjoyed traveling to Ireland, |
16 | | Italy, and Alaska with his wife; he was a devoted Chicago Bears |
17 | | and NASCAR fan and a member of Saint Joseph Catholic Church in |
18 | | Joliet; and
|
19 | | WHEREAS, Francis Jones was preceded in death by his wife, |
20 | | Nancy (Olsen); his parents, Francis and Mary (Breen); his |
|

1 | | sister, Kathleen Jones; his uncle, John (Lauretta) Breen; and |
2 | | numerous other aunts and uncles; and
|
3 | | WHEREAS, Francis Jones is survived by his children, William |
4 | | (Annette) Jones and Judge Sarah Jones; his sister, Mary |
5 | | Virginia (Raymond) Sicinski; his brother, Raymond (Marilyn) |
6 | | Jones; his nieces, Laura Ballard and Stephanie (Jeff) Kastelic; |
7 | | his nephews, Michael (Christine) Sicinski, David (Nicole) |
8 | | Jones, and Daniel (Kelly) Jones; his great-nieces and nephews, |
9 | | Abby and Jonathan Sicinski, Ben, Annie, Sam, and Maggie |
10 | | Ballard, Jake, Julia, and Will Kastelic, and Benjamin, |
11 | | Samantha, Anna, and Owen Jones; numerous cousins; his lifelong |
12 | | friend, Norma Baudino; and dedicated friends and neighbors, |
13 | | Peg, Dick, Joan, Ron, and Bob; therefore, be it

14 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL |
15 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
16 | | Francis "Bud" Jones, and extend our sincere condolences to his |
17 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it |
18 | | further

19 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
20 | | presented to the family of Francis Jones as an expression of |
21 | | our deepest sympathy.
