SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Rosie Lee Carson Givens, who passed away 
4on August 3, 2016; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Rosie Givens was born to Jake Sr. and Ada Carson 
6on August 3, 1948; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, Rosie Givens joined Mercy Seat Missionary Baptist 
8Church in the early 1970s, where she served as Vice-President 
9and Treasurer of the Pastors' Aid for many years; she moved her 
10membership to the "GOP" Garden of Prayer in 2001; and
  
 
  
11    WHEREAS, Rosie Givens was preceded in death by her parents; 
12and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, Rosie Givens is survived by her husband, Lester 
14Givens; her son, Rev. Calvin Carson; her daughter, Katrenia
R. 
15Givens; and her brother, Jake Carson; therefore, be it
  
 
16    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL 
17ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
18Rosie Lee Carson Givens, and extend our sincere condolences to 
19her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
