| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of George Crozier Kieffer of Rock Island; |
| 4 | | and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, George Kieffer was born on May 25, 1932 in Moline; |
| 6 | | his parents were George Crozier Kieffer, Sr. and Theola E. |
| 7 | | Ballou Kieffer; and
|
| 8 | | WHEREAS, George Kieffer was a proud alumnus of Audubon |
| 9 | | Grade School, Washington Junior High, and Rock Island High |
| 10 | | School (Class of 1950); he proudly served in the United States |
| 11 | | Navy from 1950 to 1957; and
|
| 12 | | WHEREAS, George Kieffer was the owner of Artistic |
| 13 | | Improvement, Inc.; and
|
| 14 | | WHEREAS, George Kieffer had a love of the great outdoors |
| 15 | | all his life; he purchased a farm in Missouri, the Des Moines |
| 16 | | River Farm, in 1986; the farm was a hunting preserve and full |
| 17 | | of history; and
|
| 18 | | WHEREAS, George Kieffer enjoyed spending weekends, |
| 19 | | holidays, and especially the 4th of July and fireworks |
| 20 | | celebrations with his family; he enjoyed hunting for geodes and |
|

| 1 | | walking the creek for hours with his visitors and driving his |
| 2 | | mother on a four-wheeler around the farm; he was also a master |
| 3 | | decoy carver and wildlife painter; and
|
| 4 | | WHEREAS, George Kieffer was preceded in death by his |
| 5 | | parents; his sister, Elizabeth Oliver; and his nephew, Matthew |
| 6 | | Scott Kieffer; and
|
| 7 | | WHEREAS, George Kieffer is survived by his wife, Marilyn |
| 8 | | Kieffer; his daughters, Lisa (Michael) Kieffer-Haverkamp and |
| 9 | | Lori Kieffer-Garrison (Matthew L. Garrison); his |
| 10 | | grandchildren, Rowan and Laurel Haverkamp and Atticus |
| 11 | | Garrison; his siblings, John (Meri) Kieffer and Anne Meyer; his |
| 12 | | nephews, Kevin Kieffer, Jason Kieffer, and Kirk (Kitty) C. |
| 13 | | Oliver; his grand-nephews, Daniel (Mary Kate) Oliver and Thomas |
| 14 | | C. Oliver; his grand-niece, Ruth Y. Oliver; and many other |
| 15 | | nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
|
| 16 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL |
| 17 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his |
| 18 | | family and friends, mourn the passing of George Crozier |
| 19 | | Kieffer; and be it further
|
| 20 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 21 | | presented to the family of George Kieffer as an expression of |
| 22 | | our sympathy.
