SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Jean Moser Roth of Rock Island, who
4passed away on June 17, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Jean Roth was born in St. Joseph, Missouri to
6Frank E. and Bettie Kountz Moser on May 1, 1922; she served as
7a nurse in the United States Army during World War II; she
8married Robert R. Roth in Denver, Colorado on September 27,
91944 and earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1944 from
10the University of Missouri; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Jean Roth retired in 1984 from the Rock
12Island/Milan School District #41, where she was a school nurse
13from 1977 to 1984; she previously worked as an instructor of
14Student Nurses at St. Anthony's Hospital in Rock Island from
151966 to 1970 and was a Charge Nurse at St. Anthony's from 1947
16to 1953; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Jean Roth was a member and past elder of Broadway
18Presbyterian Church in Rock Island; she was also a member of
19the Broadway Presbyterian Church Circle Woman's Association,
20the American Red Cross, the American Association of University
21Women, and the Chapter JI PEO Sisterhood; she was a former
22leader for the Girl Scouts of America and 4-H and a past member

1of South Park Presbyterian Church in Rock Island; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Jean Roth was preceded in death by her husband,
3Robert; her parents; and her daughter, Linda D. Roth; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Jean Roth is survived by her children, Philip F.
5(Landee) Roth and Bette R. (Dennis) Haase; her grandsons, Ryan
6(Lisa) Roth, Eric (Danielle) Roth, Justin Haase, and Derek
7Haase; three great-grandchildren; her sisters, Betty M. Price
8and Donna M. (David) Faust; and her sister-in-law, Dorothea
9Moser; therefore, be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
11ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
12Jean Moser Roth, and extend our sincere condolences to her
13family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
14further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to the family of Jean Roth as an expression of our
17deepest sympathy.
