2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
3 | | learn of the death of John Douglas Behme of Worden, who passed |
4 | | away on April 29, 2016; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, John Behme was born in Alton to John and Gail |
6 | | (Seeger) Behme on May 26, 1971; he attended Trinity Lutheran |
7 | | School in Worden and graduated from Edwardsville High School in |
8 | | 1989; he married Angela M. Redman at Trinity Lutheran Church in |
9 | | Worden on September 7, 1996; and
|
10 | | WHEREAS, John Behme became an Operating Engineer at age 19 |
11 | | and worked for Tom Allen Construction in Edwardsville; he then |
12 | | worked for Keller Construction in Edwardsville for 14 years; |
13 | | and
|
14 | | WHEREAS, John Behme was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church |
15 | | in Worden and Operating Engineers Local 520 in Granite City; he |
16 | | enjoyed hunting, fishing, travelling, and hiking with his |
17 | | family; he and his son, Nick, restored old cars; he truly loved |
18 | | spending time with his family; and

19 | | WHEREAS, John Behme was preceded in death by his |
20 | | stepmother, Mary Ellen (Watsek) Behme; his maternal |
21 | | grandfather, Charles D. "Duke" Seeger; his paternal |

1 | | grandparents, Edwin and Helen (Neuhaus) Behme; and his best |
2 | | friend, Scott Cunningham; and

3 | | WHEREAS, John Behme is survived by his wife, Angela; his |
4 | | son, Nicholas Scott Behme; his daughter, Brooke Taylor Behme; |
5 | | his father, John W. Behme; his mother, Gail A. (Keith) (Seeger) |
6 | | Behme-Opel; his sister, Leann (Daniel) Behme Eckhardt; his |
7 | | niece, Ashley Eckhardt; his niece, Alicia Eckhardt; his nephew, |
8 | | Dillon Redman; his nephew, Chris McCoy; his father and |
9 | | mother-in-law, James L. and Jeannie S. (Harty) McCoy; his |
10 | | maternal grandmother, Mildred L. Seeger; his sister-in-law, |
11 | | Kimberly McCoy; his brother-in-law, Vince Redman; his |
12 | | brother-in-law, Shane (Debbie) McCoy; his paternal |
13 | | grandmother-in-law, Ann Redman; and many aunts, uncles, |
14 | | cousins, stepbrothers, and stepsisters; therefore, be it

15 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL |
16 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
17 | | John Douglas Behme, and extend our sincere condolences to his |
18 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it |
19 | | further

20 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
21 | | presented to the family of John Behme as an expression of our |
22 | | deepest sympathy.
