SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of  Paul J. Gerjol, who passed away on April 
419, 2016; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Paul Gerjol was born on December 28, 1923 in 
6Waukegan; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, Paul Gerjol was a veteran of World War II and a 
8recipient of the Bronze Star; his personal narrative of his 
9wartime experiences was recently inducted into the Library of 
10Congress; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, Paul Gerjol was an avid golfer; he loved gardening 
12his prized tomatoes, taking his motorhome on trips, and 
13spending time with his grandchildren; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, Paul Gerjol was preceded in death by his brothers, 
15Edward and John Gerjol; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, Paul Gerjol is survived by his loving and devoted 
17wife of 59 years, Janet; his children, Terry (Tom) Girmscheid 
18and Andrew (Lindsay) Gerjol; his grandchildren, Ryan (Britta) 
19Girmscheid, Derek, Byron, and Rachael Girmscheid, and Matthew 
20and Nicholas Gerjol; his great-granddaughter, Iris; several

1nieces and nephews; and his loyal friend, Dan Tennett; 
2therefore, be it
  
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL 
4ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his 
5family and friends, mourn the passing of Paul J. Gerjol; and be 
6it further
  
 
7    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
8presented to the family of Paul Gerjol as an expression of our 
9sympathy.
