SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of  Harlin Eugene "Gene" Terry of Moline, who 
4passed away on April 15, 2016; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Harlin Terry was born on August 12, 1944; his 
6parents were Earl and Myrtle Gorsuch Terry; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, Harlin Terry served in the United States Army, 
8then went on to attend Black Hawk College and graduate from 
9Western Illinois University with a bachelor's degree in 
10engineering; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Harlin Terry retired from the Rock Island Arsenal 
12in 2005 after 20 years of service; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, Harlin Terry loved remodeling his rental 
14properties and attending antique car shows; his pride and joy 
15was his 66-68 Dodge van and truck, which he stripped down and 
16redid himself; he also enjoyed fishing, gardening, and dancing; 
17and
  
 
18    WHEREAS, Harlin Terry was preceded in death by his father 
19and his sister-in-law, Jean Marie Terry; and

1    WHEREAS, Harlin Terry is survived by his companion, Gloria 
2Lopez; his brother, John Terry; his nephews, Jonathan (Tracy) 
3Terry and Michael (Meaghan) Terry; his eight great-nieces and 
4great-nephews; his godchildren, Angie Moore, Mario Delgado, 
5Alex Animas, and Mercedes Animas; and his best friend, John 
6Gray; therefore, be it
  
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL 
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his 
9family and friends, mourn the passing of Harlin Eugene "Gene" 
10Terry; and be it further
  
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
12presented to the family of Harlin Terry as an expression of our 
13sympathy.
