SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Steven J. Stella of East Peoria, who 
4passed away on April 13, 2016; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Steven Stella was born in Peoria to Gary F. and 
6Tera Lee Calvetti Stella on July 24, 1965; he graduated from 
7Woodruff High School in 1984 and attended Illinois Central 
8College; he married Cathy Dobbins in Peoria on October 2, 1993; 
9and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, Steven Stella worked for the Peoria Park District 
11for 25 years; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Steven Stella was an active member and past deacon 
13of the United Presbyterian Church in Peoria; he volunteered for 
14several years as a Camp Dad for the Jump Start Gymnastics Team 
15at its Flip Fest Summer Gymnastics Camp in Tennessee with his 
16daughter, Abby; he could often be found lending a helping hand 
17to a friend or neighbor in need; he always enjoyed visiting and 
18getting to know the neighborhood children, who would often stop 
19by to visit; and
  
 
20    WHEREAS, Steven Stella was preceded in death by his mother, 
21Tera L. Calvetti, and his maternal grandfather, Dominic

2    WHEREAS, Steven Stella is survived by his wife, Cathy; his 
3daughter, Abby Stella; his father, Gary; his sister, Stefani 
4Stella; his maternal grandmother, Jerry Calvetti; two nieces; 
5and six nephews; therefore, be it
  
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL 
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
8Steven J. Stella, and extend our sincere condolences to his 
9family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it 
10further
  
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
12presented to  the family of  Steven Stella as an expression of 
13our deepest sympathy.
