SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Robert J. Ford, Sr. of Moline, who passed
4away on April 12, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Robert Ford, Sr. was born on February 28, 1923 in
6Chicago; his parents were David George and Rose Mary Passman
7Ford; he married Virginia Latham on July 15, 1950 in Davenport;
8and
 
9    WHEREAS, Robert Ford, Sr. served in the United States Army
10Air Corps, piloting a B-24 Liberator during World War II; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Robert Ford, Sr. was employed at Deere and Company
12in Moline for 30 years; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Robert Ford, Sr. was a member of Christ the King
14Church in Moline; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Robert Ford, Sr. was an avid member of the Alleman
16Pioneer Booster Club and was a fan of the Chicago Cubs and
17Chicago Bears; he also enjoyed spending time with his
18grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Robert Ford, Sr. was preceded in death by his

1three sisters and his brother; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Robert Ford, Sr. is survived by his wife,
3Virginia; his children, Bob (Linda) Ford, Jr., Tim (Julianne)
4Ford, Terry (Mary Beth) Ford, and Rick (Jackie) Ford; his
5grandchildren, Sarah Ford, Rachel Childs, Katie Kauffman, Ryan
6Ford, Chris Ford, Jami Parise, Terry Ford, Jr., Casie Layer,
7Ben Ford, and Emily Ford; and his 10 great-grandchildren;
8therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
11family and friends, mourn the passing of Robert J. Ford, Sr.;
12and be it further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Robert Ford, Sr. as an expression of
15our sympathy.
