2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
3 | | learn of the death of Robert W. Johnson of Cordova, who passed |
4 | | away on March 7, 2016; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, Robert Johnson was born on January 1, 1929 in |
6 | | Moline; his parents were Walter and Amy Johnson; he married |
7 | | Diana L. Hamor on December 31, 1950 in Moline; and
|
8 | | WHEREAS, Robert Johnson was a graduate of Moline High |
9 | | School; and
|
10 | | WHEREAS, Robert Johnson served in the United States Army |
11 | | during the Korean War in the 399th Ordinance Battalion; and
|
12 | | WHEREAS, Robert Johnson was a Moline firefighter for ten |
13 | | years before going to work for John Deere Harvester as a |
14 | | product engineer, where he retired in 1987 after 27 1/2 years |
15 | | of service; and |
16 | | WHEREAS, Robert Johnson was a member of Trinity Lutheran |
17 | | Church in Moline, the Rock Island Conservation Club, and the |
18 | | Thor Lodge #9 Independent Order of Vikings in Moline; and
|
19 | | WHEREAS, Robert Johnson enjoyed gardening, woodworking, |
|

1 | | fishing, hunting, his place on the river, and spending time |
2 | | with his family and friends; and
|
3 | | WHEREAS, Robert Johnson was preceded in death by his wife, |
4 | | Diana; and |
5 | | WHEREAS, Robert Johnson is survived by his children, Mike |
6 | | (Donna) Johnson, Douglas Johnson, Pam McDermott, and Deborah |
7 | | (William) O'Brien; his grandchildren, Tiffany (Josh) Basala, |
8 | | Tatum (Mike) Griffin, Chad (Sarah) Johnson, Sam McDermott, Max |
9 | | McDermott, Chelsea Johnson, Wyatt Johnson, Ava Johnson, Kailyn |
10 | | Green, and Connor Green; and his great-grandchildren, Bailey, |
11 | | Brody, Calvin, Nolan, Addy, and Myah; therefore, be it
|
12 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL |
13 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his |
14 | | family and friends, mourn the passing of Robert W. Johnson; and |
15 | | be it further

16 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
17 | | presented to the family of Robert Johnson as an expression of |
18 | | our sympathy.
