SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Robert L. Burger of Geneva, who passed
4away on February 17, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Robert Burger was born in Chicago on April 4, 1933
6to Francis and Imogene Burger; he graduated from St. Charles
7High School in 1951, where he lettered in basketball, baseball,
8and football; he attended the University of Wisconsin School of
9Pharmacy, earning his Bachelor of Science in 1955; he served in
10the United States Army Medical Service in January of 1956; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Robert Burger worked at Burger Drugs; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Robert Burger was an active member of St. Patrick
13Church and School in St. Charles, where he served as athletic
14director, and coached basketball for 25 years; he also served 6
15years with the St. Charles Park District, and dedicated 20
16years to St. Charles boys basketball; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Robert Burger was preceded in death by his
18parents; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Robert Burger is survived by his wife of 55 years,
20Marla; his children, Robyn (Greg) Gola, Maureen (Fattah) Sabir,

1Mark (Karen), and Megan White; his grandchildren, Taylor and
2Samantha Gola, Molly and Maggie Burger, Weston White, and Leila
3Sabir; and his 2 nieces, Nicole (Guy) Pleasant and Tara
4Machura; therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
7Robert L. Burger, and extend our sincere condolences to his
8family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
9further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of Robert Burger as an expression of
12our deepest sympathy.
