|
2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
3 | | learn of the death of George M. Freund of McHenry, who passed |
4 | | away on January 29, 2016; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, George Freund was born on July 7, 1924 in McHenry; |
6 | | his parents were George P. and Mary (nee Meyer) Freund; he |
7 | | married Gloria Biggers on June 12, 1948 at St. Mary Catholic |
8 | | Church in McHenry; and
|
9 | | WHEREAS, George Freund worked with his brothers in their |
10 | | family-owned business, J.I. Case Company, until his |
11 | | retirement; and
|
12 | | WHEREAS, George Freund was a member and usher of St. Mary |
13 | | Catholic Church; he was a member of the Catholic Order of |
14 | | Foresters, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the American |
15 | | Legion; he was very active with the McHenry School Board and a |
16 | | Loan Officer with the McHenry Savings and Loan; he was also the |
17 | | singer and trumpet player for his 5-piece dance band and played |
18 | | trumpet for many years in the McHenry City Band, but his true |
19 | | passion was singing; and

20 | | WHEREAS, George Freund enjoyed bowling, golfing, and |
21 | | spending time with his family and friends; and
|

1 | | WHEREAS, George Freund was preceded in death by his |
2 | | parents; his wife, Gloria; his son, Bob; his brother, Jim; his |
3 | | brothers-in-law, Robert Biggers and Howard Dermont; and his |
4 | | niece, Cheryl Biggers; and |
5 | | WHEREAS, George Freund is survived by his children, Patti |
6 | | (Dave) Laursen, Carole (Frank) Tucci, and Linda (Bill) |
7 | | Pomierski; his grandchildren, Jill (Joe) Flores, Todd (Erica) |
8 | | Freund, Nikki (Dan) Pagels, Frankie Tucci, Dan (Ava) Pomierski, |
9 | | and Justine, Brianne, and Matthew Pomierski; his |
10 | | great-grandchildren, Abby and Gwen Flores, Layla and Ryder |
11 | | Pagels, and Easton Freund; his brother, Robert (Renee) Freund; |
12 | | his sisters-in-law, Doris Freund, Joan Dermont, and Judy |
13 | | Biggers; his daughter-in-law, Laurie Freund-Dina; his many |
14 | | nieces, nephews and cousins; and his much loved caregiver and |
15 | | friend, Ganzo; therefore, be it

16 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL |
17 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his |
18 | | family and friends, mourn the passing of George M. Freund; and |
19 | | be it further
|
20 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
21 | | presented to the family of George Freund as an expression of |
22 | | our sympathy.
